Keywords and the usage of them are an essential part of any search engine optimization or digital marketing program. If the goal for a specific webpage is to have it rank highly in a search engine result page for a given keyword, then it's important that keyword or keyphrase is present and prominant on the page.

But this has changed in the past number of years. 10-20 years ago, it was good practice to "stuff" important keywords in as many places as possible. Nowadays, you should make sure that the content and text on your page makes sense from a human perspective. Sentences that contain an unnatural number of search keywords could actually lead to your webpage being marked by search engines such as Google and Bing as "spammy" or low quality.
